From paper to project

  1. Place the ball in the first rectangle with its upper half visible.

  2. Gently twist both ends of the tissue to create a rounded hollow.

  3. Remove the ball and repeat with the other four rectangles.

  4. Shorten one twisted end of each petal, leaving a small margin.

  5. Gather the long ends and secure them with paper tape.

  6. Wrap the strip around the base and spread the five petals evenly.

Check it with an example

Five matching petals surround a rolled-paper centre. Try one first: its curve should remain after the ball is removed.

If it does not turn out as expected

Wet tissue tears. Keep liquid glue off the entire petal surface, join only the bases and work with dry hands.
