From paper to project

  1. Choose two colours plus a dark text colour.

  2. Print a sample with the settings planned for the full batch.

  3. Note the paper name and settings on the back.

  4. Check small lettering and pale areas in usual lighting.

  5. Pick a combination that remains readable without relying on colour alone.

  6. Keep the sample and retest after changing paper or ink.

Check it with an example

A label should remain readable in greyscale. Compare dark lettering on pale coral and on yellow before choosing.

If it does not turn out as expected

Increasing saturation is not a universal fix. Avoid thin type on very dark backgrounds and compare tests with matching settings.
