From paper to project

  1. Find the supported paper weights and sizes in the manual.

  2. Start with 80–100 gsm for notes and test prints.

  3. Try 80–120 gsm for fine folds and check for cracking.

  4. For labels, cards and light boxes consider 160–220 gsm only if the printer supports it.

  5. Print a sample and let the ink dry before folding.

  6. Record the paper, settings and result so you can repeat what worked.

Check it with an example

An A4 sheet has an area of 0.06237 m². At 80 gsm it weighs about 5 g; at 160 gsm, about 10 g. Twice the mass does not necessarily mean twice the thickness.

If it does not turn out as expected

Do not force paper into a tray. Use the manufacturer’s recommended feed path or print on thin paper and transfer the outline to card.
