From paper to project
Draw a very light 2 cm grid.
Choose a small shape that fits in one cell.
Draw one row, leaving an empty cell between motifs.
Offset the next row’s start by one cell.
Repeat two colours and dry before erasing the grid.
Use the sheet for a card or outer wrapping.
Check it with an example
A 1 cm motif within a 2 cm cell leaves breathing room. Try nine motifs before covering a whole sheet.
If it does not turn out as expected
A pattern is not seamless unless its edges align. Check the edge offset before trimming sheets to join them.
