From paper to project

  1. Place the sheet landscape with the 297 mm edge facing you.

  2. Mark 15 mm folds and alternate valley and mountain folds across the sheet.

  3. Compress the accordion and fold it halfway along its 210 mm axis.

  4. Glue the two faces meeting at the centre.

  5. Glue one card strip to each outer end as handles.

  6. Spread the handles outward into a semicircle and test gently without pulling the paper.

Check it with an example

The central fold gives a radius of about 105 mm. Equal fold widths help the edges align when opened.

If it does not turn out as expected

If it twists, do not compensate with glue: remake the first folds. Heavy paper is harder to compress.

Where this idea comes from

This project revisits a Dulzura de Papel topic with instructions and original graphics developed for this version. Abanicos de papel super divertidos.
