From paper to project
Fold the sheet in half and in half again to mark four panels along its length.
Open it and fold in half in the other direction to make eight rectangles.
Fold only across the short direction; cut from the folded edge to the first central intersection.
Open the sheet: the two middle panels now contain a slit.
Fold lengthwise and push the ends towards the middle to open a cross shape.
Close the cross into a book and number the eight faces before drawing.
Check it with an example
With A4, each face is about 74 × 105 mm. Practise with scrap paper and mark the cover before adding a final design.
If it does not turn out as expected
Do not cut through to the outer edge. Two separate sheets mean the cut was too long: restart with an undecorated test.
