From paper to project
List the contents and date; avoid abbreviations that another person may not understand.
Test a 70 × 40 mm label on your smallest jar.
Print a test page at 100 % and check contrast and type size.
Clean and dry the jar’s outside; position the label away from curves and seams.
For a removable label, attach plain paper with tape around the edges.
Replace the label when the contents change; keep the original package’s instructions visible.
Check it with an example
Example: OATS / opened 2026-10-10. The name identifies the food and the date helps organisation, but neither replaces the manufacturer’s expiry date or storage instructions.
If it does not turn out as expected
Home printer ink may not withstand water. Remove paper labels before washing and keep adhesive away from surfaces that touch food.
Your template, ready to print
Original design. Match your printer’s paper size and keep the scale at 100 %.
Solid line: cut. Dashed line: fold. Calibration square: 20 × 20 mm. Personal and classroom use; do not resell the file.
