From paper to project

  1. Measure the outside circumference of the case and add 1 cm for the join.

  2. Cut a curved band from the doily, keeping its decorative edge.

  3. Check the height stays below the cupcake’s top.

  4. Wrap an empty case and adjust the overlap.

  5. Secure the join with tape only on the outside.

  6. Insert the cooled cupcake and remove the wrapper before eating.

Check it with an example

A 16 cm circumference needs about a 17 cm band. A curved strip allows its top to be wider than its base.

If it does not turn out as expected

Adjust the curve if it springs open. Do not bake it, grease it or glue it directly to cake.
